We declared an emergency in the Scicluna household today.

Thank GOD Aaron was working from home today because I panicked! I didn’t know what to do or where to start. I heard Eli tooting in his swing, (sorry Jac) which is nothing unusual for this kid, while I was chit chatting on the phone with my mom. She goes “what’s Eli up to? I hear him in the background” I said “oh he’s just fussin’ because I’m ignoring him as I try to finish up dinner…”
Ummmm, not exactly. THIS is more likely the reason for the fussin’:
001
Ahhhhh! Say it isn’t so! Of coooourse momma put her hand in it…
003
“What’s all the fuss about ma?”
002
“Oh look, there’s daddy, this is fun!”
004
Emergency bath time!
I threw him on his belly to try to get his onesie off and the whole time he’s belly laughing while I’m trying to wipe poop off my hands, and keep it off my sleeves and his face. Gah!
006
Mr. Innocent, post bath.
Whelp, back to smelling divine. Needless to say my home cooked meal was a little jacked up :/

Mmm mmm, can’t get enough of…

…these munchy thighs!
munchy thighs Oh, and just for the record, I don’t usually dress my kid in just a onesie and socks & shoes. He did have pants on 5 minutes prior to this pic. I swear.
Night night all,

A fun Sunday and my bad-mommy confession…

Well I’m certain Eli had a very fun day today with all the attention he got from the ladies and getting to watch some TV even if it was football (gaaaag). Our college Buddy Greg and his wife Renee came over, along with my sis and her hubby to watch the games. I decided to try and make something other than chili and went with crockpot chicken fajitas. Pretty yummy if I do say so myself! The best part of the day (besides us ladies crafting of course) was my little guy was so good! He seriously adores undivided attention. Now give him 3 girls who are loving up on him and this kid was in heaven. I’m pretty sure he convinced Greg and Renee to start “trying” right away. Good job Punkin! Momma is so proud :D Thanks for a great Sunday guys, we enjoyed having you over.
So I gotta tell you about what I did to my son the other day and I felt terrible…for laughing. Well I’m certain my son likes his bodily fluids to shoot out of his body as fast as possible, (hence the grunting poop face) so it was no surprise that he actually seems to like the little bulb suctioner thinga-ma-jiggy that sucks his boogies out (the thing is amazing by the way). Well yesterday daddy was playing with Eli, doing some belly time and he reports to me that Eli has a “whopper” in his nose. Sure enough, it’s right there and about the size of a small planet, so I grab the suctioner thingy and proceed to suck it out. I get a little to come to the edge of his nose, grab a kleenex to try and wipe it out and but figured I still had more to get. So you know how these things work, you squeeze/compress it and then stick it up the nose and let go and the suction draws out the goods, well I squeeze it to go for round 2 and end up firing the previously apprehended boogie right back onto my sons face! Poor thing. You should have seen the stunned look on his face. And let me tell you, that sucker WAS a whopper indeed. Thank GOD I didn’t shoot him in the eye (although my hubby pointed out it would then be an “eye boogie” ;) That my friends is why I love him, ba dum bum!) I’m ashamed to say my first instinct was not to wipe it away but to get a camera…I hesitated people!—and laughed! :/ What kind of mother am I?? In an attempt to redeem myself I did not know where my camera was to take a picture, but chose to tend to my rattled son instead. Anywho, I confessed, now I’m forgiven, right?…cricket…cricket…
Oh, here’s my cutie patootie this morning after daddy changed a horrendous diaper and put a fresh one on before giving him to me, he obviously has forgiven me:
naked baby I love me a naked baby! Hi grandma!
Alrighty folks, hope you enjoyed your Sunday as much as we enjoyed ours!

My baby is FOURTEEN weeks old!

And what a FUN 14 wks its been! Everybody was right when they say each phase the child is in currently is their favorite. It’s so true. I loved the infant stage because he was just so itty bitty and cuddly. I love this stage because he’s smiling ALL THE TIME and he’s starting to jabber away! I can’t wait for what’s in store for the next stage of life now :)
So this is how I start my mornings lately, (Thank GOD it’s 8am now instead of the 5:30-6:00am like he was doing) :
It’s mid October and still 80 degrees??! Yowza! I am NOT turning the air on in October. So it’s 78 degrees in the house with the beautiful sun shining in and the windows open. That means its just a stay-in-my-diaper-and-chill kind of day.

My little Al Bundy. Ha ha.
Alrighty folks, that’s all for now. I have my TEN year high school reunion tonight. Can you believe that??? Where does the time go. Gosh, high school seems like a lifetime ago! I’ll post pics tomorrow :)

Definitely a growth spurt…warning, nudity ;)

Eli’s right on target for predicted growth spurts and the subsequent frequent feedings, fussiness and lots of sleeping. He wouldn’t want to disappoint anyone ;) Thank God the fussiness only lasts a day or two with him. He’s just about back to his great baby self. These “spurts” make me truly appreciate the usual good days. I honestly don’t know how people deal with colic. I know that’s the one thing in parenthood that could put me over the edge, and I’ll admit, the thought TERRIFIED me during pregnancy. I LOVE that I’m his favorite person and that a soft calming voice or cuddle can stop any of his outbursts. If that didn’t  work?!?! I don’t know what I’d do. My heart goes out to those mommy’s that do deal with colic :*(
So I told Jac that I secretly thought she was crazy for putting her kid to bed at 6:30 pm, I mean that seems so early! But, for the last 3 nights, Eli has been going through a witching hour come 6pm. I thought “what the heck?? Where’s my sweet, lovable baby boy??” So I fed him and put him down at 7pm and he was Out.Cold. Tonight, I fed him at 5pm and he was going crazy at 6pm (sucking on anything in sight, fussing and then full out crying) So I fed him and he passed out. (Aaron asks me what I put in the breast milk, ha ha) He was in bed by 6:45pm! I guess he’s been trying to tell me all along that he needs an earlier bedtime. Sorry little fella!
Aaron and I are still debating the whole vaccination thing :/ I tell him I work in a hospital and that vaccinations are important and he says not all of them are necessary. So we got Dr. Sear’s book “The vaccine book” at the library at the recommendation of my pediatrician and we both plan to read it and come to a decision soon. So Eli and I decided it was a nice day to take a stroller ride to the library.  With the colder weather here, I had him decked out in one of his new handmade hats that he got at my baby shower from my cousin-in-law Val. (Thanks Val!!! I freakin’ LOVE it!)  I couldn’t take my eyes off him! Sooo stinkin ca-uute in that thing. We did a little unintentional off roading because momma wouldn’t keep her eyes on the road :/
See what I mean??stroller time 014stroller time 016
I could just eat him up!
Grandma helped me give him a bath today after a disastrous poop fiasco… what else is new with this kid. Mommy insists on using the too-small-for-my-rump huggies naturals since we have’em. **sigh, I suppose I’ll take the blame for the blowouts :/ Poor grandma had poop everywhere :)

Thanks Grandma for helping me get squeaky clean! Come back to play tomorrow! :)

Hi Punkin!
car seat tent 005  Super baby!
Well Aaron had to go out of town for the night last night and I told him since we didn’t have to worry about waking daddy that I was going to let Eli cry out his midnight feeding to see if he could go longer. I wonder if Eli heard me because it turns out he CAN go longer, in fact he slept 7 straight hours and skipped right past his midnight feeding. Woo hoo! Here’s to hoping he does it again tonight and maybe sleeps even longer :)
Night night
